Signorina Pomellina Abstract Cubist Portrait Oil Painting by Alexandra Swistak

$1,275.00

A modern abstract portrait painting of a young lady with a hint of cubism.

This is one painting from a series inspired by a client commission. The client had requested a connection to nature, beauty (note her beauty mark) and renaissance portraiture. There is a reference to Pomellina Fregoso (1387/88 in Genoa – 1468 in Monaco) and the House of Grimaldi.

All organic motifs and symbols are for the delight and interpretation of the viewer. This portrait is created with several layers of brush strokes. Confident brush work showcases a level of excellence, skill and an emotional connection to this scene.

Description

This study was painted to form a large oil painting that has sold. I also often paint small studies in oils or gouache. See Tate to learn about the gouache medium. You may also commission a painting at no extra cost, please contact me if you have any questions.
