An active mid century modernist snowy village composition, painted in oil on canvas paper.

In this scene, figures enjoy walking through the village and catching up with friends and neighbours. It’s a very vibrant fishing village. The pair in the distance are mysterious; one appears to be reading to the other. The puppies, fancy hats, snow covered firewood, bicycle and pathways invite the viewer to linger. Brushstrokes are loose and expressive in some areas, but also purposefully detailed in others. It’s a richly detailed scene that sets a calm tone.

The vintage mid century modern wood frame is a lovely finishing touch for this magnificent painting. It’s old, has some scuffs, imperfections and age related wear.

The Renaissance period, Classicism and Cubism are primary references for my work. I always begin in the representational and let the work evolve into the abstract or remain representational. Although divergent in process, my work at its core remains connected to the inspirations from which they were conceived. The subject matter whether portraiture, figurative, still life or landscape are important. And yet, the true subject and passion always lies in balance, symmetry, structure, shapes and spacial relationships.

This ships with a tracking number in a carefully packed hard board box to ensure safe delivery. International delivery time can be slower but often is approximately 7 to 15 business days.

I spend a great deal of time to ensure a listing is accurate. For some reason, this painting was very difficult to photograph. Thus I’ve included scans, which seem a little brighter than the actuals colors. Please contact me if you require more photos or a video.
