A simple but very striking composition in oil.

An expressively detailed, mid-century modern inspired interior. This is a well loved and lived in room filled with light pouring in from a high window.

Fresh tulips are the only adornment. Miniature details are beautifully rendered and yet, still loose in brushwork. It’s a streamlined room with an array of color and light that invites the viewer to explore and linger. The viewer’s focus is directed to the vintage quilt and bold red rug.

There is a sense that someone can enter at any moment to spend the afternoon in the plush chair with a good book.

The vivid color palatte is balanced with creams and white. Furthermore, a very creamy/white oil paint surrounds the interior scene, giving it an overall vintage feel.

All symbols, motifs and other references are for the delight and interpretation of the viewer.

The vintage mid century modern frame is a lovely finishing touch for this contemporary scene. The frame has age related wear.
