There is so much depicted in this scene and yet it does not take away from the focal point. Instead the architectural details, painting of Florence, musical instrument, cushions, and butterflies all add to the sumptuousness and whimsy of this space.
This heavy wood frame is from an estate sale. There are signs of restoration, although some imperfections and age related wear remain visible. Having said that, it’s a magnificent, substantial frame that completes this elegant painting.
